A Fall Give Away - CHOCOLATE CHEWY COOKIES!

The thing I hate about contests is that I want everyone to win. : (
I want to send all my wonderful readers cookies!  Truly - I do!
I am going to have to go with 2 winners on this one.

1.  Angela Miceli- I like the challenge of coming up with a gluten free pie crust recipe - just in time for the Holidays!

and

2.  Carl - yes, a facebook page and youtube channel are a good idea!

So - congrats to you both!  Be sure to email me your addresses or where you want the cookies sent!  whiskedaway2@gmail.com

Thanks for all of the great ideas!  I wrote them down and am going to try and implement many of them!

Have a great Monday!

eat your heart out,

Dagny : )

p.s. stayed tuned for a new cooking video to be released some time this week!

So I have some news.  I got braces...and yes - this means I have reentered nerd land...to be honest, I am not quite sure I ever left it.  This means I can't eat a lot of the things I usually eat.  Recently I have been craving these Chocolate Chewy cookies, and since I can't eat them myself I figured I would give them to you to enjoy for me!  How does that sound to you?

I just realized this blog is almost 4 years old! Holy purple cows!!!  Can you believe I have posted almost 300 posts?  I am in shock!  Sounds like a good time to give away some cookies!

I want your feedback.  Your HONEST to God feedback!  What would you like me to post a recipe for on my blog?  What do you think I could work on improving on my blog?  Pictures are a given - I took the first steps to improving that - and bought a DSLR camera - now all I have to do is get around to learning how to use the darn thing. : )  One day soon!!!  Do you have any formatting suggestions?  How could I increase the number of readers?  I value your opinion!!!

Now I don't expect you to do all this work for free.  This is America - nothing is free...oh wait...never mind don't get me started on that can of worms!  I am fully prepared to bribe you with these cookies.  I know how the system works : )  So you all have 3 days to submit your advice or suggestions to me.  The advice or comment I like best will win a 10 count Chocolate Chewy Cookie gift box.  You can choose to have it sent to yourself or to a friend.

So here are the rules!

1) Comment on this post with some advice or feedback for me on how to improve my blog, or a dish you would like to see a recipe for.

2) This Friday I will choose a winner and send them a cookie gift box!

3)  Check back to see if you won so you can send me your address!

May the odds be ever in your favor!

Dagny

  1. I cannot wait to try the Paleo Pumpkin muffins! However, as Thanksgiving is around the corner and I am cooking, I am trying to find the perfect gluten free and (relatively) health pie crust recipe! All the best!!!

  2. I suggest you make whatever it is you are going to post about....then ship it to me so I can take the picture & taste test it...then post about it on your blog! Wha-la!

Oh...and I'm not a big fan of center justified text...left justified is more readable.

Was it really only 2 years ago we took that cookie picture out on the sidewalk?

  3. Dear Dagny, I love your blog! Keep doing what you're doing. I love all of your recipes and have tried many of them out. I have a challenge for you.. I would love to see a recipe for a vegan, gluten-free dessert. Sounds crazy, right? I have been playing around with baking gluten-free and recently have tried baking vegan as well. I have had some great successes (most recently gluten-free, vegan maple sugar swirl scones). Anyways -- maybe something like a gluten-free vegan sweet potato pie or something for Thanksgiving? I love everything you do! Keep it up girl! <3

    1. Kate! THANKS for the kind words and thanks for being a fan! I keep getting requests for vegan and gluten free recipes - guess I need to get around to working on that. : ) Those scones sound amazing! What kind of flour alternative did you use?

  7. You should bake a s’more pie. I’ve never had it, but it sounds delicious and would be a fun twist of the original s’more. I’m sure it would also be a great fall dessert with its warm chocolate, marshmallows (marshmelters), and crumbly graham crackers. You could call it either Please sir may I have S’more pie or S’more Please. I hope you like my idea!

  8. Hmmm, I would love more snack bar/ball/cookie ideas. I come here first, but as a busy lady, I dont often have the time to make some of the recipes. Your Lara Bar recipe, granola, oh, most of the cookies and cakes, are amazing! I come here first for recipes, and when I have the time, I try the more complex ones. Also, some one-dish, healthy dinner ideas? crockpot or casserole, or sautee pan. Your writing is always catchy and your recipes delicious, so I sar, 4 years of Good Work!! Congratulations!

    1. Yes! I agree more one dish crockpot recipes is a must! It is hard to find good ones - most of them call for pre made seasonings and sauces : ( Now that the cooler weather is here I need to work on finding those kind of recipes! Thanks for being an awesome reader!

  10. Dags, I love this blog and I really love the stories you include, they make me miss you! One suggestion I have, if it is possible, is a change to the categories section. I always find it so helpful when I'm looking for recipe inspiration to have a list of titles in front of me. For example, when I click on "breads" it brings up every post you have labeled "bread" but in order to see all the options, you have to scroll through each post. If there is any way to do it, I think it would be great to have a list of each "bread post" title, that a reader can browse and then click on the specific title that interests them. Does that make sense?

    Keep up the great work!

Miss you too! I love telling stories! One day I am going to be a little old lady who sits on her porch telling stories all day long! : ) Totally understand what you mean about the categories. I plan to work on that soon! Thanks for being a reader!!!! : ) Hope to see you soon!

  11. I think this blog is amazing. The posts are so entertaining, and the recipes are incredible. I'd love to see a tips/techniques section. Just little things that maybe you've picked up over the years that us mere mortals may not know. You had a few technique tips in the video you posted, and they were really helpful.
    Great work!

    1. Thanks Elizabeth E! Tips and techniques section is a sweet idea! Maybe I will just do short videos for that instead - that would be much easier than filming a whole recipe being made! : )

  15. Maybe changing the background color. Rather than having just the grey color you can make it a bright and fun color. Maybe changing the color with the seasons. Other than that I think the format and style are super appealing! DO I WIN COOKIES?!?!?! :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wait, free cookies??? I agree with changing the background color. Something to go with the blue in your logo. Maybe butter-yellow. Also, do you have a facebook page? You could set one up to promote the blog and then people could Like it to get updates. I would also setup a YouTube channel for your cooking videos if you plan to make more of those.

    1. Yeah, I need to make a facebook page...one of these days it will happen!

  17. Hope I'm not too late. I was totally going to say something about the background color too, but I guess I have to come up with something else now. So on one of the other blogs I follow they had a giveaway and you had to do certain things to get a certain number of entries. For instance, if you followed them on pintrest or twitter, you got 3 entries. If you mentioned them in a tweet, it was 2. If you mentioned them in a blog it was 5 (or something like that.) You could totally do something similar to get some more publicity. If you need more details I can share with you the blog I'm referring to.
